Mike Caringello Memorial Hunger Walk
This year Mike Caringello Memorial Hunger Walk will be October 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Mineral Springs Park. Mike, a longtime leader in our community and Grace United Methodist Church, where he was also usher, acolyte, and greeter for years, started the Hunger Walk several years ago. Over the years, thousands of dollars have been raised to feed people in Pekin. Mike had a deep compassion for the hungry. He took seriously Jesus’ command to “feed my sheep.”
The income from this year’s Hunger Walk will be evenly divided between Pekin Outreach Center, Grace United Methodist Church Food Pantry, and the Salvation Army.
Send your donation to Grace United Methodist Church or bring it to the Park October 9 at 10:00 a.m. and walk a mile or two around the beautiful lagoon. The challenge is to double your gift from last year. Come join the fellowship and let’s feed some hungry people!
