How can I connect and grow at Pekin Grace?
Eat, talk, laugh and enjoy a program that ranges from informational to entertaining at our monthly Friendship Club. All adults are invited to join us on the first Monday of each month. We meet in the Sanctuary at noon.
Join us for small group circles that are both social and mission-minded. We meet once a month and focus on different aspects of discipleship and service.
The United Methodist Men exist to encourage leadership, promote understanding and to deepen spiritual lives.
Take part in various Bible studies offered on Wednesday nights. These studies typically last 4-6 weeks and are focused on books of the Bible or particular topics or issues.
We have two men's teams (16 years old and up) and one women's team (14 years old and up). We have a veteran team that plays on Monday night on Diamond #2 in the Pekin Park. Our intermediate team plays Tuesday night on Diamond #2 in Pekin Park. Our women's team plays Monday or Tuesday on Diamond #3/4 in the Pekin Park. This is a time of great fun and Christian fellowship.
Shoot some hoops during open gym on most Monday nights. Enjoy our brand new court and the Christian fellowship!
Where can I volunteer my time at Grace?
Connecting God’s grace with human need is one of our main focuses at Pekin Grace UMC. We are actively involved in our community and continually work to share what we have with others. If you would like to help us with any of these areas of care, please contact the church office.
On the last Saturday of every month, we serve a free lunch to those in our community at the Grace Café. Lunch is available from 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
We consistently serve over 200 people on a monthly basis with our Food Pantry. We distribute free groceries to those in our community in need. During the holiday season, we also distribute turkeys and hams.
Community Work Days
We continually look for ways to help those in our community by organizing days to help senior citizens, those who are disabled and widows with needed yard and home repairs. We also participate in larger community projects like river cleanup.
In addition to supporting global missionaries, we send teams to help firsthand. For many years, we have had the opportunity to serve areas in and around Patulup, Guatemala. In our time working there, we have built houses for four extended families, provided stoves for 15 families and held Bible school for over 1,000 kids.
